FIELD TRIPS |

| The Prospector's Club
holds a field trip once each month for its members,usually on the weekend following the
meeting. Since our interests are varied, our trips include some very interesting
places and activities. In the past these trips have included bottle-digging in the desert, at places like old Ghost towns, such as "Darwin" and others. Mining camps, including "Holcomb Valley" in the San Bernardino Mountains. Also along railroad lines, where the maintenance crews once lived in buildings used to lay the tracks for the Union-Pacific Railroad lines throughout the deserts of Calif.. Also trips to some City dumps, including Los Angeles, and San Diego. Our trips have also taken us to many of the recreational parks and beaches in Southern Calif. to look for old coins and jewelery. Many trips have been in search of gold nuggets and sometimes treasure. Most of our members have been successful in finding a wide variety of items that can be thought of as "treasure", including things like Indian artifacts, arrowheads, meteorites, etc. Our Club field trips often include "coin hunts" and "Bingo games" staged for the members to add to their personal enjoyment, along with occasional "pot-luck dinners" or lunches which are sometimes provided by the Club. The Club's Annual Picnic field trip is a real hit with our members, providing them with Club furnished food and entertainment as well as an opportunity to get in some afternoon metal detecting for fun, and profit. December is the one month of the year that our Club doesn't hold a field trip. Instead, a Christmas party is held at the Meeting Hall, where a great dinner is provided to all members, and many prizes and gifts are given out to most everyone. Santa also shows up to greet the kids with gifts. Come to our meetings
